Kerr, a Governor General Award-winning playwright and co-founding member of Vancouver's Electric Company Theatre, will be in residency at the U of A for two years beginning in September. He will divide his time writing plays and helping other playwrights. Kevin Kerr is the second playwright to take up the Lee Playwright in Residence post, following inaugural Playwright in Residence, Don Hannah.
